Here's a video of a cellphone salesman appearing on the show, "Britain's Got Talent." He's chubby and doesn't have good teeth. I'm not trying to be rude, just pointing out his obvious flaws, the things that probably have kept him from chasing after his dreams.

But the man has a Voice. Not a good singing voice, not a pleasant sound, but a Voice. I don't know anything about opera - no matter what Mudcat thinks - but I get chills every time I hear him sing. Whatever you might think about Simon Cowell's various talent shows, each will have at least one example of some completely regular person who has a chance to hit it big, or get a gig, or even just hear the applause of several thousand people for the first time.

This guy, though, deserves to be picked up by some opera company no matter the outcome of the show.

*It's a Shakesville thing. And no, I'm not going to explain it.
