Reading Food Labels

I just got back from the grocery store. One of the things I looked for was salmon, specifically wild salmon. So I found some "wild" sockeye salmon. Looking at the label showed that the ingredients consisted of "salmon," which normally would have been enough. But it's certainly not enough now. Now I read all the labels of everything that I buy.

This "wild sockeye salmon" is a product of China. Sockeye salmon are not from China. So who knows what is in those packages.

No matter what we buy, it seems that it's coming from China. And you know, I really don't have an issue with China qua China, and certainly not with anyone from China, Han Chinese or not. I'd be just as upset right now if we found out that all our "food" companies were injecting pureed British cow brains into our food. And who knows, maybe they are. I'm ready to believe just about anything right now.

God help us all.
